The envelope sizing system works in the same way as paper sizing - fold an envelope in half, and you have the next size ‘up’ as it were. For example, a C4 envelope folded in half results in an envelope of C5 envelope size, and so on. Unsurprisingly, the numbers also tend to correspond with that of the paper system, with a C4 envelope able to fit an A4 sheet of paper without folding. The DL envelope, the rectangular in shape and able to fit a twice folded piece of A4, is most commonly used with businesses, so make sure your office is fully equipped!
