When the rise to stardom of personal computers began in the early 1980s, experts and analysts all over the world were acknowledging the death of paper. Finally, they said, the office stalwart and desktop favourite was on its way out. Paper would soon be obsolete, with people only ever recording things and communicating digitally and electronically. Only now, nearly thirty years later, has the world realised how wrong these ‘experts’ were.
Paper, in its numerous forms, is one of the sought after office supplies. For laser printing or packaging, business cards or even cleaning, paper variations can be found everywhere in your office and are crucial for the day to day functioning of your business. It is therefore surprising that so many people choose not to shop around for their paper supplier, often over paying as a result. Many offices search for the cheapest deals on software or ink cartridges but still continue to pay unnecessarily high prices for their paper. Luckily for your business Office Kitten is at hand to choose the best quality, cheapest paper for you, providing the most helpful service, the most efficient delivery and the best prices around, making your paper supply one less thing to worry about!
Types of Paper
The first thing to consider when buying paper is the type of paper you require. The size is the first thing to take into account. Most people understand how the ‘A’ sizing system works - the higher number after the ‘A’, the smaller the paper. Of course, the most widely used size is A4, used for laser printing and toner printing and many other applications, but paper is available from size 4A0 (2378 x 1682 mm) all the way to A8 (74 x 52 mm).
The weight of paper is similarly important, especially when it comes to postage. ‘Standard’ paper weighs 80 gsm (Grams per Square Metre), whereas for more official documents or important letters, 100 gsm paper is often synonymous with higher quality so is more popular. Once the weight of paper gets to 120 gsm, the paper is considered as card which, as you might expect, is also available here at Office Kitten!
